Resümee

   In this work, we are interested in the underspecification inherent in
   verbs and the process of establishing semantic predicate-argument
   structures in utterance interpretation. The establishment of fully
   propositional content of verbs in context involves a process of
   enrichment during which the arity and the inferential roles of the
   predicate are determined. We model this process as involving
   world-knowledge and formalize it with recourse to Default Logic. (This
   work is being done jointly with Lutz Marten of the Department of
   Linguistics at SOAS in London.)
